Kolkata's Bangla Express Literature prize winning poet A K Sarker Shaon (In Bengali এ কে সরকার শাওন) was born on 6 February 1967 in Gopalpur village of Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria of Bangladesh. His father Md. Abdul Gani Sarker was a government official and mother Mrs. Saleha Gani Sarker was an ideal housewife.
The beginning of his educational life was at the Udbodhon High School in Jhalokati district city. He passed S.S.C. from Nabinagar Pilot High School in 1983 and H.S.C. from Nabinagar Government College in 1985. During in service of Bangladesh Air Force In 1991, he graduated from the prestigious Aeronautical Engineering Department of ATI (Airman Training Institute) with a first-class associate's degree. Then he was the instructor of that institute for 10 years from 1996. He graduated from Dhaka University in 1989 with a degree in English Literature, and in 2008 he obtained a Diploma degree in Information Technology from the University of Assumption, Thailand. He also holds a Honors bachelor's degree in law from a private university too. He has multiple Certificates of Experience in "Food Safety Management" awarded by the International Finance Corporation under the World Bank with the collaboration of PRAN Group.
His published books are Kotha-Kabbo (Lyric & Poetry) Nirob Kothopokothon (Silent Dialogue), Apon-Chaya (Own Shadow), novel Atal Jole Jolanjali (Sacrificed in Deep Water) and autofiction novel Shaonaz Island.
Poetry books yet to be published are "Love-delirium", "Light-shadow", "Peril-delirium", "Chair and Thief" and "Flute Player". The children's poetry book is called "Banka Chander Hasi" and the English poetry book is called "Songs of Insane" English novel " Metacosm of the Mind", Bengali novel "Banshfool". The story book's name "Makeup Box".and "Momer Shesh Shikha".
"Tumi Amar Sajanee Sen" "Nari Tumi Anannya", "Apan-Chaya", "Dhannyi Meye", "Ballyasmriti", "Fathers Shadow" "Kashmiri Shall", Kanthal" Picture of Father, "The Motherland" etc. are his popular poems.
The poet is leading happy conjugal life with his educationalist wife Nazma Ashekin Shaon the daughter of A K M Zahirul Haque Ibrahim who was a renowned fighure in Cinema of East Pakistan now Bangladesh. Their youngest daughter is studying medicine science at Russia's top medical research university 'Sechnov' in Moscow on a Russian government scholarship. Middle daughter is artist. She is studying Aerospace Engineering at Kalinga University (KiiT) in Bhubaneswar, India on a full scholarship from the Government of India. The eldest daughter studied at Dhaka University in Bangladesh, Tata University in Mumbai (TISS) on a full scholarship from the Government of India and Monas University in Melbourne, Australia on a scholarship.
Retiring voluntarily from Bangladesh Air Force , he worked as a factory head of a leading company in Indo Sub Continent. He is now permanently residing at his residence "Shaonaz Villa" in Uttarakhan in the capital city Dhaka of Bangladesh. Full interview link with Masranga TV
